Christina Malle Donates to Pure Earth’s Auction
Rosette studs and flower bar earrings will be featured in the April auction, while ten new responsibly sourced jewelry styles are being added to Christina Malle’s signature collection.
New York, NY. April 2, 2018. Equal parts exquisite and sustainable, the jewelry created by Christina Malle is known for incorporating classic designs for everyday wear. Carefully sourced colored gemstones from known vendors, recycled and fairmined gold, and the campaign for mercury-free mining practices are all sourcing pre-requisites for the designer. Her earrings, necklaces, rings, and bracelets are worn to mix and match, and colored gemstone pieces feature her signature rosette motif.
In addition, Christina Malle has joined with other fine jewelry designers to participate in the Pure Earth Responsible Jewelry Auction, donating a pair of gold rosette and flower bar earrings, to help raise awareness about mercury use by gold miners and encourage the future of sustainable jewelry.
Jen Marraccino, Senior Director of Development, Pure Earth, says, “Pure Earth is glad to be working with designers like Christina Malle to help raise awareness about toxic pollution and inspire the demand for mercury-free gold. Malle is one of over 30 designers who’ve crafted beautiful pieces using responsible materials for Pure Earth’s 2018 benefit jewelry collection. The responsible collection will be unveiled by Colombian star Taliana Vargas in April, when it will be auctioned online to support Pure Earth’s work. Visit www.pureearth.org to shop the auction in April.”
Rosettes, highlighted in her auction items, are also prevalent in her new faceted amethyst briolette earrings and necklace, drop earrings with granulation, green tourmaline necklace, peridot bracelet, and sapphire earrings. Christina Malle has also created 18K white gold and diamond earrings, alongside a chic 18K yellow gold ring and necklace, for women looking for a polished, yet chic look.
Christina Malle says of her inspiration for her new styles, “With spring finally here, it seems the perfect time to introduce new pieces in spring green peridot and others in elegant amethyst. Granulation has echoes of the Etruscans and also antique Indian jewelry. Private clients ordered bespoke pieces in South Sea Pearl, which also prompted inclusion in the line, with the signature rosette. I admire the work Pure Earth does on mercury and other pollutants, and I am delighted to donate earrings to its upcoming auction. We can all learn more about mercury in the gold supply chain by asking questions when we buy anything made with gold, whether it is jewelry, electronics or tech devices.”
