Tips for Hosting a Virtual Jewelry Sales Event

For selling jewelry online and in real time, there are many things to consider. Here we gathered some ideas, to help you plan your next event.

Platforms

There are many platforms that can be used, and each can be utilized for the benefit of your business. Below is a list of a a few that are great for selling gems and jewelry, as well as some tips on how you can take advantage of them.

1. Instagram

Instagram can be used to make reels, go live, make stories and posts, as well as have direct customer interaction with DM’s and comments.

2.  Facebook

Facebook can be used for posting pictures both on your feed and stories, as well as for messaging with potential clients.

3.  Zoom

Zoom is one of the best video conferencing tools; it can make for a personal interaction with either one person or a large group of people.

4.  Twitter

Twitter functions through communication with short tweets, which can be used to keep clients up to date with what is going on through your company, or to show off new products.

How to Promote in Advance

You should post videos of up to 60 seconds in length, to give a more detailed look of your jewelry and capture angles that a simple picture would not be able to. Use reels to give clients a more in-depth view into your beautiful jewels. Use Instagram to do more than just post, use it to tell people why they need these jewels. Instagram can be a great marketing tool for storytelling.

Selling & Showing off Jewelry

Set up a Zoom Event:

You can fit up to one hundred people on a Zoom call (with the free package). To limit interruptions, have everyone else stay muted, and if you wish, leave time for questions at the end. Take your time and show off each piece. Explain the origins of the jewels, share the story about the creation of the piece, and tell people why it is unique. This can be a great way for people to have a personalized shopping experience from the comfort of their homes.

Utilize Instagram:

Utilize Instagram’s new shopping feature by posting your pieces and providing a direct link to shop. Make sure potential customers are always aware of when new items go live.

Interacting with Customers

Set up a one-on-one zoom call with people who have further questions, or have them send you a DM on Instagram. On your posts a simple “DM us for further questions” can go a long way. Give people the space to reach out, and make them feel comfortable doing so. Talking to clients, or potential clients, through DM is a great way to build a rapport, by getting to know the people who buy from you. Another option is to use tweets. While you can also direct message through Twitter, potential clients can send you a tweet, and you can answer them through that platform. Twitter can be a more informal way to communicate, while also being quick and easy.
